The XIAO nRF52840 packs Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and powerful processing into a compact, low-power module. The Nordic nRF52840 MCU uses a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 running at up to 64 MHz with hardware floating point unit. The board includes 256 KB of RAM with 1 MB of onboard flash, plus an external 2 MB QSPI flash for data or multimedia storage.
Wireless connectivity features include BLE 5.0 with an onboard antenna plus NFC for close-range applications. It achieves very low standby current (less than 5 µA in deep sleep).
The XIAO nRF52840 provides plenty of GPIO pins, including analog-input pins, UART, I²C, SPI, and SWD for debugging. A reset button and status LEDs (user + charge / power) help with development and debugging tasks.
The module supports programming via Arduino, CircuitPython, and MicroPython.
