The Seeed Studio XIAO MG24 is a tiny, low-power wireless development board based on the Silicon Labs EFR32MG24 SoC. It combines a modern 32-bit Arm Cortex-M33 processor with 2.4Â GHz wireless connectivity, making it a very interesting XIAO module for compact IoT, smart home, Matter, Thread, Bluetooth, and battery-powered projects.
Like all boards in the Seeed Studio XIAO family, the XIAO MG24 uses an ultra-compact 21 × 17.8 mm form factor while still providing a surprisingly rich set of GPIO and communication interfaces. It is breadboard-friendly, USB-C programmable, and small enough for embedded projects where a full-size development board would be too large.
The onboard Silicon Labs EFR32MG24 features a 78Â MHz Arm Cortex-M33 core with DSP instructions, floating-point support, and a built-in AI/ML hardware accelerator. This gives the module much more processing power than classic entry-level microcontroller boards while keeping power consumption very low.
The XIAO MG24 supports modern 2.4Â GHz wireless protocols including Matter over Thread, OpenThread, Zigbee, Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3, and Bluetooth mesh. This makes it especially useful for smart home devices, wireless sensors, battery-powered control nodes, and experimental Matter/Thread projects.
