Description
Medium Precision Temperature and Humidity Sensor DHT22 with 1-Wire Data Bus. The Aosong AM2302, better known as DHT22, is a calibrated, integrated humidity and temperature sensor with a 1-wire communication interface which only requires 1 IO pin on your microcontroller.
The sensor provides 16 bit resolution and consumes only about 0.3mA when active (0.06mA in standby). It can operate on a supply voltage of 3.5 to 5.5V.
DHT22 is not only easy to connect, the available libraries (e.g. for Arduino) are also very easy to use.
This sensor module is a more precise device than the cheaper DHT11. See a comparison of the main features:
- Humidity: 0-100% with 2-5% accuracy (DHT11: 20-80% with 5% accuracy)
- Temperature: -40 to 80C with +/- 0.5C accuracy (DHT11: 0-50C with 2%)
- Sampling rate: 0.5 Hz (DHT11: 1 Hz)
The module’s body size is 15.1mm x 25mm x 7.7mm and it comes with 4 pins with 0.1″ (2.54mm) spacing.
