This Mega 2560 has been developed as a microcontroller board based on the ATmega2560. It has 54 digital input/output pins (of which 15 can be used as PWM outputs), 16 analog inputs, and 4 UARTs (hardware serial ports). Furthermore, it has a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery. The Mega 2560 board is compatible with most shields designed for the Uno and the former boards Duemilanove or Diecimila. The Mega 2560 is designed as an update to the former Arduino Mega.
This MEGA 2560 controller is 100% compatible to Arduino and the Arduino IDE.

The MEGA 2560 is the better choice for more complex projects. With lots of digital and analog I/O pins and larger memory for your sketch, it is the recommended board for 3D printers and robotics projects. This gives your projects plenty of room and opportunities.

NOTE: This module doesn’t fit our acrylic enclosure kit, but the MEGA 2560 board with Atmega16u2 USB chip would fit.
