Description

The ADS1115 is a precision, low-power, 16-bit, I2C-compatible, analog-to-digital converter (ADCs).

It incorporates a low-drift voltage reference and an oscillator, a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and a digital comparator. These features, along with a wide operating supply range, make the ADS1115 well-suited for power-constrained sensor measurement applications.

The sensor performs conversions at data rates of up to 860 samples per second (SPS). The PGA offers input ranges from 256 mV to 6.144 V, allowing precise large- and small-signal measurements.

An input multiplexer (MUX) allows for two differential or four single-ended input measurements. Use the digital comparator in the ADS1115 for undervoltage and overvoltage detection.

ADS1115 operates in either continuous-conversion mode or single-shot mode. The device is automatically powered down after one conversion in single-shot mode; therefore, power consumption is significantly reduced during idle periods.

The wide operating voltage range of 2.0 to 5.5V makes it the ideal choice for 3.3V and 5V microcontroller applications. The average current consumption in continuous conversion mode is just about 0.15mA.

Please use an online search to find plenty of example projects for Arduino, Raspberry etc.

A library called “ADS1X15” for Arduino is available within the Arduino IDE.

Note: We ship either one of two slightly different designs, depending on availability. Both designs are technically identical and just look a little different.

Works well after finding the right library. I have tried 2 devices so far, both are fine. The results match my voltmeter and are stable and reproducible. The I2C comm works fine too. Good product.

Why only 4 stars when everything is fine?

because you don’t show where to get a library. “Look on youtube” is not the same as showing the correct one. Many items have several possible libraries.

  4. UNIVERSAL-SOLDER

One library comes directly from Arduino and is available on the Arduino website:
    https://www.arduino.cc/reference/en/libraries/ads1x15
If you prefer a different one for any reason, you will find many other libraries using online search. There is neither a need nor does it make much sense for us to recommend a specific library but our customers have multiple choices. I hope that makes sense.
