8×8 64-Dot-Matrix MAX7219, Red, 4 Module Cluster, Arduino Library
64-Dot red Matrix Module (8×8) with MAX7219, 4-Module Cluster.
This display is a cluster of 4 single modules, internally connected. These modules can also be separated, because every module carries the same Maxim MAX7219 chip, and comes with the same power and data connection.
MAX7219 is an integrated serial input / output common-cathode display driver. It can connect a micro controller to a 7-segment LED display, a bar graph display, or even 64 independent LEDs. It includes a BCD encoder chip, multi-channel scanning loop segment word driver, and a 8 x 8 bit static RAM for storing display data. Only one external register is used to set the segment current of each LED.
A convenient four-wire serial interface connects the display module to a micro processor or controller. MAX7219 contains a 150A low-power shutdown mode, analog and digital brightness control.
MAX7219 requires only three IO ports to drive a dot matrix without any flicker!
MAX7219 supports cascading of multiple mmodules.
